SUN is co-hosting a training on Saturday April 14th from noon to 4 P.M. Along with our allies at Citizen Action and SEIU 1199, we will help teach folks how to confront corporations, government officials and others with people power: nonviolent, direct action protest.
We will meet at Most Holy Rosary Church parish center located at the intersection of Roberts and Bellevue Ave.–at the top of the hill, 2 blocks east of S. Geddes Street. The hall is wheelchair accessible and we will have a free lunch of pizza, wings and beverages. The training will be fun, exciting–with lots of opportunities to actively participate.
Hear stories of Syracuse’s rich history of protest, find out what other progressive groups in Syracuse are working on–and how we can work together to win bigger victories. Learn from special guest James Mumm, director of organizing for National People’s Action, speaking on creative protests. SUN is a longtime member of N.P.A.–and many of our leaders learned how to stage a protest at the many events staged in Washington, Chicago and NY City by N.P.A. SUN urges its members to come out to this training–and then we’ll see you out in the street!
